It’s a journey through time, from the Carthaginians to the Romans, from the Arab-Muslims to the Bedouins moving in the desert of the great Eastern Erg! For several days, you will immerse yourself in local life, share a meal with the inhabitants in a troglodyte house, discover Berber villages, and spend a night under the stars in the desert.

Day 1: Welcome to Tunis
Arrival at Tunis-Carthage Airport, welcome, and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Discovery of Tunis
Breakfast, departure from the hotel, heading to the Medina, the old city classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979. We will stroll through its narrow alleys, artisanal souks, visit historical monuments such as mosques and medersas. The Medina of Tunis is one of the oldest and most beautiful in the world. Next, a visit to the famous Bardo Museum, the second most important in Africa, globally renowned for its fabulous collection of Roman mosaic from different eras. After the visit, lunch in the northern surroundings of the capital, on the coast of La Goulette and its famous seafood restaurants. In the afternoon, visit the ruins of Carthage, the land of General Hannibal, passing through the hill of Byrsa, the Antonine Baths, the Punic sanctuary, and the Punic ports. We end the day with a visit to the picturesque village of Sidi Bou Saïd, all in white and blue, overlooking the Bay of Carthage, with a break to enjoy mint tea with pine nuts, typical of the village. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Kairouan, Capital of the Aghlabids
Breakfast and departure to Kairouan, a historic city located 150 km from the capital, the first Arab foundation and the capital of Muslims, where we can visit the Great Mosque, a spectacular architectural work from the 7th century. Next, a visit to the mausoleum of Sidi Sahib, the barber of Prophet Muhammad, and the 9th-century water cisterns, a hydraulic work from the Aghlabid era. Lunch in a local restaurant, in the afternoon, a visit to the medina and its monuments, souks, streets, and the famous well of Bir Barrouta, where you can see a camel turning with an ancient noria system. Dinner and overnight at the Kasbah Hotel.

Day 4: Tozeur
Breakfast and departure to the Tozeur region, visiting oases and mountain villages offering a spectacular landscape, walking to discover the waterfalls. Lunch in a local restaurant, and in the afternoon, heading to the Star Wars set, crossing the salt lake of Chott el Gharssa and the Paris-Dakar track, an adventure with a unique landscape and mirages, arriving at the Star Wars set where Mos Espa was filmed. Possibility to climb the dunes to admire the sunset. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Tozeur.

Day 5: Douz and Night in a Tent
Breakfast and departure to visit the medina of Tozeur, an old city from the 12th century, famous for its architecture and the baked brick covering of the houses. Walk in the market and the main street. Next, head to Douz, crossing Chott El Jerid, the largest salt lake in North Africa. Arrival in Douz, visit the market, lunch, and departure to the village of Sabria, where we meet our local guide with camels for an hour’s walk to the camp, where we will spend the night in Bedouin tents. Typical dinner, music, and traditional bread baked in the sand.

Day 6: Tataouine and Berber Villages
Breakfast and departure to the village of Tamazret to enjoy the lunar landscape, then head to the village of Matmata to visit a troglodyte house, houses dug into the ground in the shape of craters, welcomed by a local family offering honey, oil, and traditional bread. Next, head to Ksar Haddada, where Star Wars was filmed, a Ksar is a large fortified granary used by caravans for overnight stays. Lunch in a local restaurant and continuation to the Berber village of Chenini, spectacular with the mountain, houses carved into the rock. Night in an ancient Ksar: Ksar Ouled Debbab.

Day 7: El Jem
Breakfast, departure to El Jem, arrival in the city, lunch, and in the afternoon, a visit to the famous amphitheater from the Roman era, the seventh most important in the Empire, the best-preserved in the world today, a visit to the museum offering a spectacular collection of mosaics from the Roman era. Next, head to Sousse, accommodation, and dinner at the Mouradi Hotel or similar.

Visit the medina, the museum, the port El Kantaoui, the tourist marina, lunch, and continuation to Hammamet.
